Tribology is the science and engineering of interacting surfaces in relative motion. Tribology is a key factor to successfully address new challenges related to the durability, performance, efficiency and sustainability of a number of strategic applications. Especially relevant for Switzerland, is the demand for more efficient micro/nano systems, bio-engineering interfaces and in the related manufacturing processes.
